Where should I put a Hedgehog House?
Find a quiet, sheltered, and shaded spot in your garden, ideally against a wall, fence, or shed. The entrance should face away from the prevailing wind (usually north or north-east in the UK).
What should I put inside the hedgehog box?
CPlace a small amount of dry nesting material like dry leaves, hay, or short straw inside. Hedgehogs will usually rearrange this or bring in their own, but this gives them a good head start.
Will hedgehogs really use the box?
They will! Hedgehogs are creatures of habit and are often looking for safe places to rest, breed, or hibernate. Placing the box in a good spot and ensuring they have easy access to your garden increases your chances dramatically.
