Where it works
Best placed directly on firm, level ground, e.g., along garden edges, near herbs, wildflowers or soft planting so insects can come and go as they please.
For ground-dwelling species like beetles, woodlice and centipedes, choose a sheltered spot with dappled sun and natural cover.
For flying insects like bees, The Thicket can also be mounted on a fence or wall, ideally near pollinator plants and away from strong wind. Think peaceful corners, soft borders and tucked-away spots where nature feels at home.
Why it matters
Insects play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy garden ecosystem, yet they often struggle to find nesting spots due to habitat loss. The Bower offers them a secure refuge and helps your garden’s biodiversity thrive.
Every BgBx box is handcrafted by RAW, a social enterprise supporting people on the path to rebuilding their lives after facing difficult circumstances. By choosing The Thicket, you’re creating a welcoming space for wildlife while helping to support positive social change. It’s a choice that feels good for your garden, your community and the planet.
