Where it works
Mount The Larder in a safe location; at least 3-4 metres away from trees, fences or other structures that predators could use to lurk on the feeder.
Northeast facing is ideal to avoid direct sunlight spoiling food and the birds overheating.
It should sit at a height that’s easy for you to refill and clean, while still giving birds a good view of their surroundings.
A calm, quiet spot will encourage repeat visits.
Why it matters
Birds are vital parts of a balanced garden ecosystem, but finding safe, reliable feeding spots can be a challenge due to habitat loss. The Larder welcomes small birds and gives them a place to perch and peck.
Every BrdBx feeder is handcrafted by RAW Oxford, a social enterprise supporting people on the path to rebuilding their lives after facing difficult circumstances. By choosing The Larder, you’re supporting a product rooted in community and made with care for the environment, all while making your garden a more welcoming place for wildlife.
