Where it works
- Install your bird boxes 2-5 meters above the ground, ideally facing north or northeast to shield from direct sunlight and rain.
- Ensure the box has a clear flight path, free from obstacles, so birds can safely come and go.
- For predator protection, position the box securely on a tree, wall or fence post.
- Birds need their own little corner to feel safe when nesting, so keep some distance between The Flit and other bird boxes/feeders to avoid territorial squabbles.
Why it matters
Blue tits and other small garden birds face increasing pressure from habitat loss, urbanisation and competition for safe nesting sites. The Flit provides the quiet refuge they need to raise their young in peace.
